Did you plan you holiday in Sardinia but you still have to book a flight, and you have no idea where to land? If you are looking for airports close to your favourite hotel or destination just continue reading.
Main airports of Sardinia
Sardinia has 3 well-established airports: 1) Olbia Costa Smeralda Airport; 2) Alghero Fertilia Airport and 3) Cagliari Elmas Airport.
They are located in strategic points of island, respectively in the north-east coast, in the north-west coast and in the south coast.
This means 2 main things.
The first is that if your hotel in Sardinia is near the city of Olbia, Alghero (read my travel tips about Alghero) or Cagliari, landing in one of the respective airport you will reach your accomodation in maximum 30 minutes using Sardinia public transports (or less, if you take a taxi).
The seconde one is that if your hotel is in other famous destinations such as Costa Smeralda, Orosei, Cala Gonone, Castesardo, Chia, Oristano or Costa Rei, probably you have to plan the trip at your best.

No worries if you rent a car: in any airport you will land, you will reach your destination in maximum 3 hours (here’s a usefull tool to calculate distances).

What more i can say about airports of Sardinia?
Probably that if you didnt rent a car online, you can rent there of course, but if you travel in hight season you risk to wait a lot for you car: also 5/6 hours.
Airports of Sardinia are safe places, in which you can relax and eat something one arrived or before leaving.
Morover, in airports you can find a lot of shops to buy some souvenirs without spending a lot.
